The application requires a $50 non-refundable application fee ($65 fee after April 15).

Application fee waivers are available for students with demonstrated financial need.

Submission of Test Scores

Enter LSU’s code when registering for the ACT or SAT as an institution that automatically receives scores.

Email an official score report or a screenshot of your ACT or SAT online portal to your LSU Admissions Counselor or admissions@lsu.edu. The student’s full name, test date, and all scores from that test date must be visible. The applicant’s LSU Admissions Portal checklist will be updated within 24 hours after scores are received.

Submission of the Transcripts

Submit a transcript from all high schools you’ve attended.

LSU can access in-state transcripts electronically through the Louisiana Department of Education. If a paper transcript is needed, you will be contacted directly.

Louisiana high school students may elect to use one of the methods below to submit grades but consult your high school counselor first.

You may self-report your grades using LSU’s SRAR (Self-Reported Academic Record) system.

Applicants must report grades exactly as they appear on the high school transcript. The university strongly recommends having a copy of the transcript available when entering grades into SRAR.

Letter of Recommendation

The university requires at least one letter of recommendation from an academic source (counselor, teacher, advisor, administrator, etc.) for all applicants. Graduate Admission Requirements

The office of graduate admissions determines the eligibility of the applicant by checking the requirements of the university. Final admission to the university is subject to approval by the Office Graduate Admissions. Minimum University Requirements are as follows-

Baccalaureate Degree

A conferred baccalaureate (or equivalent) or advanced degree from an accredited college or university by the expected date of entry into the graduate program.

Minimum GPA

The Graduate School requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (2.5 for non-degree seeking students) for the last 60 semester hours in the previous undergraduate or graduate program.

Transcripts

Applicants must submit an official transcript (in a sealed envelope) from each college and/or university attended to the Office of Graduate Admissions. Acceptable electronic transcript exchange systems are SPEEDE Server, E-Script, National Student Clearinghouse, and Parchment. The university also accepts the unofficial transcripts but the condition is that they should not be unsealed, photocopied, notarized, faxed, or scanned.

Curriculum Vitae

A curriculum vitae (CV) or resume with a complete and accurate chronological outline of all previous college-level education is required. Applicants may upload it in SLATE or email a pdf version to gradadmission@lsu.edu.
